Two of my favorite ever cats, being awesome like they usually are.
I like to vary how their relationship is in my fics (mates, siblings, partners, whatever), but the recent Cats production I watched live portrayed them so cutely together that I was PERMANENTLY sold to the Mates theory.
It seemed the production was as well - they made sure Mungo and Rumple looked completely different from each other so they wouldn't be considered siblings. Mungo's fur was based on black with red stripes over, and Rumple's was based on white with barely any orange. And the actors were adorable whenever they interacted. So hurray, Mate Theory!
I like to imagine that here MJ is being grumpy because, I dunno, Macavity slapped him in the face or something and RT goes "LOLOLOL WATCHA DOIN?" to cheer him up and he'll be all "STFU" but inside he will be all "<3" because he totes has a huge crush on her. Did that paragraph make any sense?
